Fasting for 38 Hours

In the past four (or five) months in Southampton, I've been following an eating pattern which is known as intermittent fasting. I've dropped from 186 pounds to 145 pounds but this is not the only reason why I love this eating pattern. I basically intend on permanently keeping my eating lifestyle based on intermittent fasting. There is detailed blog planned about my experience with intermittent fasting, however, this blog illustrates my experience with fasting for 38 hours straight.

The maximum number of days fasting I did was 24 hours but never have I fasted for 38 hours.

During my fast, only water is allowed (no coffee or tea or anything else). My fast started on Saturday at 00:00 2018 and ended on Sunday at 14:00. During the fast, there are generally no cravings as the body enters a fat-burning mode. Other than that, it was pretty simple and easy.

Some might think I'm insane but fasting has numerous health benefits if done correctly and properly.

FIVE GUYS should be avoided at any cost

If you're a food fanatic like me, you have probably heard of American burger chain: FIVE GUYS. For sure, their burgers taste really great but that comes with a hefty price.

I've decided yesterday to try the American food chain in Oxford, but I was disappointed with that deplorable food chain.

You don't get any plates

What was staggering about my experience at Five Guys is realizing they don't have plates in their food chain. They instead wrap their burger with an aluminium foil and throw it in a bag. So you can expect to literally eat like this, disgusting:

Extremely Expensive

I had ordered yesterday: one cheeseburger - medium fries and a milkshake and had to pay around 17£ for that, that is around 22USD. They are also ashamed to show their prices on their menu online:

But, I found a menu with prices added somewhere else:

They charge £8 for one fucking cheeseburger, £4.75 for a milkshake and £4 for normal fries.

Extremely Unhealthy

One meal FIVE GUYS is extremely expensive and overpriced, and leave you stuffed with at least 2,000 calories; probably more than your normal or recommended calorie intake, here is a menu I found with their calories:

Any meal would be spectacularly unhealthy. They stuff 950 fucking calories in regular fries and 980 calories in a cheeseburger. 2,000 total calories in a burger and fries. According to Health.com:

'The regular size serving of fries has 953 calories—about half the calories many women need in an entire day—while the large has a whopping 1,314 calories. A Five Guys cheeseburger weighs in at 840 calories, while a Wendy’s cheeseburger has 570 calories. When it comes to the milkshakes, you’re starting off at 870 calories and 82 grams of sugar (around 20 teaspoons)—before adding any of the free mix-ins.'

Ending Thoughts

Calm down FIVE GUYS, you are a JUNK FOOD chain, not a fine restaurant with waiters; the prices should be less, especially with how you are served the meal. And, what is more appalling, is the number of calories they stuff in their food. There probably should be more regulations from the US government over those junk food chains as the obesity epidemic is not showing signs of slowing down.
